I note that the location and counties specified for my English DNA are very accurate.
My mother's DNA results
AncestryDNA Ethnicity Estimate:
Germanic Europe: 52%
Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium & Luxembourg
Netherlands
England, Wales & Northwestern Europe: 46%
Sweden: 2%
I note that the specification of the Netherlands is accurate. The disproportionately large second category (46%) is probably largely due to the 'Northwestern Europe' component, which also includes the Netherlands and surrounding areas.
My paternal grandfather's DNA results
AncestryDNA Ethnicity Estimate:
England, Wales & Northwestern Europe: 80%
South East England
Kent
Ireland and Scotland: 20%
I note the reference to Kent is accurate, and reflects the fact that his father, who was from Frittenden, has an entirely Kentish ancestry. Interestingly, he is also listed as a member of the community 'New Zealand British settlers', which may reflect that some of his relatives, such as his aunt and cousins, migrated to New Zealand.
My paternal grandmother's DNA results
AncestryDNA Ethnicity Estimate:
Ireland and Scotland: 69%
Central Ireland
North Leitrim & East Sligo
Ulster, Ireland
England, Wales & Northwestern Europe: 31%
I note that the very specific references to North Leitrim and East Sligo are impressively accurate: her paternal grandfather's family all came from W B Yeats land, the rural farms between Lough Gill and Lough Arrow. Her paternal grandmother's family originated in Counties Armagh and Tyrone, which are in Ulster.
